milan (reuters) – the italian railway company ntv chose banca imi, goldman sachs, and credit suisse to assist it in preparing its ipo next year, reported tuesday the sources close to the case, stating that it was not yet official.
banca imi is the subsidiary of the first italian banks intesa sanpaolo, itself, the first shareholder of ntv, which owns 19% of the capital. ntv held its first meeting on monday with these three banks, said one of the sources.
ntv, headed by the former president of ferrari’s luca di montezemolo and former managing director of telecom italia, flavio cattaneo, should enter into stock market in the first half of the year 2018, said the sources.
the group released last week, gross profit increased by 79 per cent in the first nine months of the year compared to the same period in 2016 to 114.8 million. turnover rose by 26% to the eur 329 million.
ntv has high-speed trains under the brand name of italian in italy, where its main competitor is the public company ferrovie dello stato.
